Extra-curricular Activities register here
Extra-curricular activities are a vital and integral part of life in The English College Primary School and take place after school from 2.00pm - 3.00pm. They are offered to all pupils from Year 3 upwards. The after school activities vary according to the time of year and staff and student interest.
The activities are run on a termly basis and once a pupil has elected to join an activity, participation is expected for the whole term. Places in activities will be allocated on a first come first served basis and pupils are expected to attend regularly. Pupils who do not get a place in their preferred activity will be offered an alternative wherever possible.
The extra-curricular activities programmes aims to broaden the development of pupils and their interests through the activities available. Some activities are provided by outside agencies and charge for their services. Pupils who attend these clubs enter into a private arrangement with these organisations and should communicate directly with them regarding the activities they provide.
These after school activities are enriched by other activities which occur during the school day and outside of normal school hours. They include the Student Council and peer support schemes for older pupils to help with the pastoral care, reading and other basic skills of younger pupils. The older pupils are role models for the younger ones and have the opportunity to develop excellent leadership skills.
